Pastor Bob Mathias will be the revival speaker for Herrington Bethel United Methodist Church, March 3, 4, 5, at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school, 10:45 a.m. worship service, 7 p.m. on Sunday, and at 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
The events are free and open to the public. The church is located at 4009 Arbor Rd. NE., Mechanicstown.
Pastor Bob Mathias is a retired United Methodist Pastor. He grew up in New Philadelphia, graduating high school in 1964.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, was team sales person for Dick Klar Athletic Supply and traveled and served over 250 schools and colleges.
Bob has an Associate Degree from Tusc. Kent State. He served as an official for high school football, was wrestling official for high school and college and worked three state finals in Ohio.
Bob took the Methodist Course of Study at Garrett Evangelical Seminary and was ordained Deacon and Associate Member of East Ohio Annual Conference in 1990.
He has held revivals in West Virginia, Indiana and Ohio and received the Denham award for evangelism in 2008. Bob has served the following churches: Bisel, Bowerston charge (Leesville, Conotton, and Bowerston 1st), Urichsville Grace, East Muskingdom Blended Parrish Zanesville, Thompson Woodlawn, Roxford, and retired in 2009. In his retirement, Bob is presently pastoring Summit Station.
Bob has been married to wife, Ginny, for 46 years. They have two sons, James Alan and Bruce Robert, and are proud grandparents of two grandchildren.
Bob enjoys bike riding, reading, all sports, and spending time with family.
