Robert Clapper, age 79, of Paris, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, in the Alliance Community Hospital. He was born June 29, 1928, in Paris, to Earl and Maudie May (Newcomer) Clapper. Mr. Clapper retired from Summitville Tile and attended the Malvern First Christian Church. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Janet (Dilley) Clapper, whom he married June 27, 1952; three daughters, B. Jean (Harry) Smith, of Salem, Cheryl (Mike) Mayle, of Louisville, Betty (Timothy) Mayle, of Louisville; two sisters, Verna Clapper, of Paris, Mary Helen (Charlie) McNatt, of Beloit; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son, James. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 15, in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home, in Minerva, with Mr. Gene Dietz officiating. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery. Comments
