Identity theft is one of the fastest growing white-collar crimes in the United States. That is why AARP Ohio is inviting you to bring old documents containing your personal information to their mobile shredding truck for disposal.

AARP Ohio is urging area residents to "Fight Fraud - Shred Instead" on Saturday, April 26, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Marriott Courtyard, 4375 Metro Circle NW, Canton.

After dropping off your documents to be shredded, go inside the Marriott for refreshments, door prizes and more information about protecting yourself from ID theft. Visit exhibit booths or attend a brief presentation about ID theft and senior scams given by Ohio Treasurer Richard Cordray's office at 11 a.m.

This event is free and open to the public.
