Ruritan spring

banquet held

The Ohio District Ruritan Spring Banquet was held on April 19 at the Amish Door Restaurant in Wilmot. The speaker for the evening was George Lilja, a former professional football player. Members of Little Sandy Creek Ruritan Club and their spouses attending were: Bud and Nancy Barlow, Wade and Dianna Bowers, Konrad and Laura Edgerton, Dick and Geraldine Lotze, Dick and Sue Pero, Bill and Jane Tuttle, Bob Pero, and Mike Wright.

AWANA holds

Awards Night

The April 20 meeting of AWANA, of Christ Memorial Church in Robertsville, the last one until September, featured Awards Night in the downstairs social room.

Approximately 50 adults and children attended. Commander Bill Hartenstein opened the 5:30 p.m. meeting with announcements, devotions and prayer, and closed with a light dinner.

Children ages three years through sixth grade in the following classes, Cubbies, Sparks, TNT, received a DVD Bible for completing their required courses for the 28 weeks and many other awards presented by Commander Hartenstein and his wife Cindy.

MacKenzie celebrates

sixth birthday

The sixth birthday of MacKenzie Codell Ross was celebrated April 19 with a covered-dish dinner at the home of her mother, Danielle Ross, brothers, Jacob and Nicholas Ross and Brian Nelson, in Robertsville.

Many family members and friends attended from Stewartstown, Pa., Cuyahoga Falls, Canton, Alliance, Minerva and Waynesburg.

Birthday dessert included a princess cake, baked and decorated by MacKenzie and her grandmother, Denise Watson, of Minerva, along with ice cream. She also received many gifts and cards.

18 members attend

Advisory Council 2L

Eighteen members and guests were present for the April 18 meeting of Advisory Council 2L hosted by Emma Brown, of rural Minerva. She was assisted by her daughter and son-in-law, Barb and Eric Burchett. Mrs. Burchett gave devotions.

Lillian Munk, president, conducted business and was in charge of the fun sheet. Election of officers will be held at the May meeting. A get-well card was passed around and everyone wrote a note of cheer to Vera Rummell, a member and a heart patient at Mercy Medical Center in Canton.

Discussion Leader Carl Rinehart was in charge of the topic "Community Developments, Energy and Agbioresources."

The May meeting will be held at the home of Lillian Munk.
