John C. McNutt, age 85, of Minerva, died April 25, 2008, in Mercy Medical Center. He was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Xenia, to Rolland and Dorothy (Spencer) McNutt. John retired from GTE, in Minerva, after 35 years of service, where he was a S&T supervisor. He was a member of the Minerva First Christian Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in South Africa, a member of the Minerva VFW Post No. 4120 and the Telephone Pioneers Assoc. Survivors include his wife, Ruth (Brenner) McNut, whom he married Jan. 22, 1976; a daughter, Virginia J. McNutt, of Carrollton; a son, Mike McNutt, of Minerva; a stepson, Steve (Glenda) Noble, of Gilbert, S.C.; four grandchildren; four great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Eberly) McNutt; a brother, Rolland McNutt. Funeral services, with full military honors, were held Monday, April 28, in the Chapel at the Minerva First Christian Church with Mr. Ralph Norman officiating. Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home, in Minerva, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Minerva VFW Post No. 4120. Comments
