LOUISVILLE -- Motts Greenhouse and Old Mill Bulk Foods of Louisville has been nominated to be on the Fox 8 Hot List, but it needs your vote by April 25.

The store has been nominated by one of its customers under the "Gourmet Grocery" section of the Hot List.

The store, which is located at 11555 Louisville St. (on the corner of Paris Avenue) is loaded with many foods-- items for the gourmet cook, the down-home cook and for those preparing dishes for special diets.

It is almost easier to say what the store does not have rather than to try to tell what the store has to offer. However, just a few examples of the items that can be purchased at the bulk-food store are baked goods; baking mixes, ingredients and equipment for pies, cakes, cookies, breads and much more; chips and snack foods of all kinds; broths and canned meats; cereals; dried fruits; coffee and teas; juices; jams, jellies and butters; candy; pasta; rice; popcorn and much, much more. Foods for special diets include whole-wheat pastas, sugar-free products, organic items and more. Amish meats and cheeses, and dairy products are also available at the store.

Gift items and gourmet gift baskets can also be purchased.

The drive to the country store is scenic, but is also easy and convenient since it sits on a state highway, east of Louisville, south of Alliance and northeast of East Canton.

The bulk-food store's hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The greenhouse is now open with early spring items, but will soon be ready to go into full bloom, which will make the visit to the store even more pleasing to the eye.

"We are excited to think that we have been nominated for the Hot List," said Linda Motts. "We are the smallest store on the list, so we hope our customers will visit the Web site and vote for us."

Channel 8 News, which comes on at 10 p.m. each evening, has started a list of popular places to visit in the area. Since Motts has a unique combination of bulk foods, meats, cheeses, baked good and much more it has been nominated as the place to visit for gourmet food items.

If you would like to cast your vote to make Motts the favorite gourmet grocery store to visit in the area, see myfoxcleveland.com. Click on the Hot List. You will be asked to give a user name and password and then will be sent an e-mail. The e-mail will have a link where you can vote for Motts.

Meanwhile, take a drive to the store.
