The Malvern Historical Society's new park and gazebo is taking shape and contributions continue to come in to fund this community project.

"We were delighted to receive a check for $500 from Dr. Joni Staziak for a park bench," says Carol Brawley, president of the group.

Also, several individuals have donated to assist with the project and purchase a brick for the park's walking path. The donors include: David Lepore, three bricks; Helen Romano, two bricks; Dominick Cinson family, four bricks; Margaret Klotz; John Wadsworth; Margaret Kocher; Savona family; Dick and Jackie Contini; Fran Montella; Sarbach family; Mechanical Elastomerics; Bill and Darletta Shank; Rosie Staffileno; Shane Hahn - Max Peterson family; Leah Duterhaver Adams; Bob and Rose Pierce; Dr. Michael Hulit - two bricks; Kopp Clay Company; Thelma Reed, two bricks; and Williams family, two bricks.

Many of the brick donations were made in honor or in memory of family members, or were made to commemorate military service or a special occasion.

Patricia Reed is heading up the drive to sell bricks. For a donation of $50, a donor's name will be engraved on a paving brick. Each brick can hold up to three lines of type with 14 spaces per line (one space per letter, space or punctuation).

Brick order forms that include other information about giving opportunities to the gazebo and park can be picked up at village hall, The Village Florist, Contini Insurance, the historical society, L&K Hornet's Nest, and the Malvern Library, or you may call Pat Reed at 330-863-0148.

All donations for bricks should be sent to: Patricia Reed, Malvern Historical Society, P. O. Box 80, Malvern, Ohio 44644.

Additional funds are still needed to cover the costs of the gazebo, landscaping and additional bricks for the walking path.
