The Minerva Local School District Board of Education voted, at a special meeting May 9, to place an emergency renewal levy on the Aug. 5 ballot. The 5.2-mill emergency operating levy was originally passed in 1992 at 10 mills. The renewal will not raise voters' taxes and would generate $1,110,000 per year for five years, the same amount it generated in 1992. The funds raised by the levy support the district's daily operations, paying for items such as curriculum materials, textbooks, technology, and classroom-related materials. Comments
