The Minerva Local School District Board of Education will host a retirement reception open house to honor the 10 staff members who are retiring at the end of the current school year. The reception will be Wednesday, May 21, from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Minerva Middle School cafetorium.
Staff members retiring from Minerva High School are Susan Headley, math teacher; Nina Mock, physical education and health teacher; and Richard Crawford, guidance counselor.
Minerva Middle School teachers retiring are Linda Beckley, health teacher; Julie Hutchison, language-arts teacher; and Gerald Newell, social-studies teacher.
Retiring from West Elementary are Diana Richeson, first-grade teacher; Karen Schonauer, fifth-grade teacher; and Elizabeth Smith, kindergarten teacher. Jeanne Hunston, district health services coordinator is also retiring.
The reception is open to the public.
