In conjunction with Minerva's 175th-birthday festivities planned for the Fourth of July weekend, everyone is invited to attend a picnic in the park.

At the picnic, Russ and Carole Norris of Wooster will perform. The couple has been performing together for many years, getting their start while singing in their church choir at weddings.

The Norrises were members of the 50s-60s band, Curb Service, for several years. Currently, they are singing classic oldies with the group Prism and perform regularly at The Inn at Honey Run in Millersburg.

Russ has had the honor of singing the national anthem for the Cleveland Indians several times. Together, they have sung the anthem in Winterhaven and at the Wayne County Fair.

Recently, Russ and Carole sang for Governor Ted Strickland and "brought down the house" singing "God Bless the USA." CDs will be available for purchase at the event.
