Minerva Police Reports

On May 7 at 3:30 p.m., police received a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle while parked at Municipal Park. Information was obtained for a report.

On May 7 at 4:09 p.m., Robert Malone, Minerva, posted bond on three warrants out of Minerva Mayor's Court for failure to pay fines and costs on driving under suspension, speeding, disorderly conduct and expired plates. Information was obtained for a report and the warrant was canceled.

On May 8 at 1:09 p.m., while on a traffic stop, police arrested Troy Blake, Alliance, for driving under suspension. Information was obtained for a report and Blake is scheduled to appear in Alliance Municipal Court.

On May 8 at 8:30 p.m., police arrested Paula Sparks, Minerva, on a warrant out of Alliance Police Department. Information was obtained for a report and Sparks was released to the custody of Alliance Police Department.

On May 8 at 10:55 p.m., police received a report of an attempted breaking and entering at a residence on East Lincolnway. Information was obtained for a report.

On May 9 at 3:13 p.m., Linda Oroark, Alliance, posted bond on a warrant out of Minerva Mayor's Court for failure to pay fines and costs on driving under suspension and no operator's license. Information was obtained for a report and the warrant was canceled.

On May 9 at 3:14 p.m., police received a report of a runaway juvenile. Information was obtained for a report and the juvenile later returned home.

On May 10 at 4:13 p.m., police arrested Shane Fick, Steubenville, on a warrant out of Minerva Mayor's Court for failure to pay fines and costs on endangering children. Information was obtained for a report and Fick is scheduled to appear in Minerva Mayor's Court.

On May 12 at 10:20 a.m., police received a report of breaking and entering of a business property on Almeda Avenue. Information was obtained for a report.

On May 13 at 12:16 p.m., police received complaints of loud music on South Market Street. Charged was Jeremy Barrett, Minerva, for unlawful noise or loud sounds. Information was obtained for a report and Barrett is scheduled to appear in Minerva Mayor's Court.

On May 13 at 5:03 p.m., police arrested Jason Priddy, Minerva, on a warrant out of Columbiana County for failure to appear. Information was obtained for a report and Priddy was released to the custody of Columbiana County Sheriff's Department.

On May 13 at 8:53 p.m., police received a report of harassment from a residence on Murray Avenue. Information was obtained for a report.

On May 14 at 12:30 p.m., police arrested Jamie Shoemaker, Minerva, on three warrants our of Minerva Mayor's Court for failure to pay fines and costs on driving under the influence, assured clear distance, driving under suspension and expired plates. Information was obtained for a report and Shoemaker is scheduled to appear in Minerva Mayor's Court.

On May 14 at 7:08 p.m., police arrested Christopher Cole, Carrollton, on a warrant out of Alliance Municipal Court for obstructing justice. Information was obtained for a report. Cole is being held at the Stark County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Alliance Municipal Court.

On May 15 at 12:45 a.m., police arrested Scott Noling, Salem, on a warrant out of Minerva Mayor's Court for failure to pay fines and costs on display of plates. Information was obtained for a report and Noling posted bond.

On May 15 at 12:55 p.m., Justin Shoemaker, Minerva, posted bond on a warrant out of Minerva Mayor's Court for failure to pay fines and costs on assured clear distance. Information was obtained for a report and the warrant was canceled.

On May 16 at 1:20 p.m., police arrested Ross Sizemore, MInerva, on three warrants out of Minerva Mayor's Court for failure to pay fines and costs on expired plates, drug paraphernalia, drug abuse, driving under suspension and illegal plates. Information was obtained for a report and Sizemore posted bond.

Accidents

On May 9 at 2:39 p.m., witnesses observed a vehicle, which was operating southbound on Preston Avenue, strike a stop sign and a tree, causing non-functional damages. The vehicle then fled the scene. Information was obtained for a report. Upon investigation, Amanda Bierly of Malvern was cited for failure to control. No injuries were reported.

On May 13 at 7:06 a.m., a vehicle operated by Robert Shane of Canton was eastbound on South Grant Boulevard when it was struck by a vehicle operated by Joseph Plavka of Minerva that was turning southbound from South Grant Boulevard onto Valley Street. Non-functional to disabling damages and no injuries reported. Plavka was cited for failure to control.

On May 13 at 4:47 p.m., a vehicle operated by Josh Lovejoy of Minerva was traveling westbound on East Lincolnway when it was struck by a vehicle operated by James Moore of Kensington that turned left in front of Lovejoy's vehicle. Non-functional damages and no injuries were reported. Moore was cited for right of way when turning left at an intersection.

On May 16 at 11:25 p.m., a vehicle operated by Christopher Compher of Minerva was northbound on state Route 183 (Union Avenue Southeast) and passed a vehicle operated by Crystin Grindle of Minerva that was traveling in the same direction. Compher then applied his brakes and the Grindle vehicle struck his vehicle in the rear, causing non-functional damages. No injuries were reported.
