Caity Haines has announced that she will continue her academic and athletic careers at Heidelberg College.

Witnessing the signing are her parents, Richard and Diane Haines.

Caity will join the Heidelberg women's soccer program in the fall of 2008. Heidelberg is a member of the 10-team Ohio Athletic Conference.

While at Minerva, the standout goalie earned four varsity letters and was named to the All-Stark County team during her senior season.

She recorded 534 saves during her final three years. This past season, she made 185 saves and had five shutouts.

"Heidelberg is division three and they have the major that I want (music performance)," stated Caity. "I want to play soccer at a college where I can still spend a lot of time on my major, and I don't think I could have done that at a bigger college. At Heidelberg, I feel I will be able to balance out the music and soccer."

Under the guidance of third-year head coach Nick Spell, the Berg has steadily improved in the OAC. In 2007, the team finished in seventh, up from tenth the year before, and is working hard to regain its place as a conference powerhouse.

Overall, the program has earned more OAC Championships than any other member school, with five OAC regular-season championships and five OAC tournament championships, since the sport was incorporated into the league in 1998.
