Foltz re-elected R.G. Drage board president

Robert Foltz, the Minerva Local School District Board of Education representative to R.G. Drage Career Technical Center's board, was again elected president of the Stark County Area Vocational School District Board of Education at its reorganizational meeting Jan. 14.

During the meeting, Steve Mohr, a new representative to the board from the Brown Local School District, was welcomed.

Malvern Schools has two representatives on the board this year, Mohr and the Rev. Wally Anderson.

In other business, the board:

* INCREASED estimated resources and appropriations by $5,400.

* APPROVED Larry Morgan, Nicole Nichols and Cynthia Smythe as public-records law designees.

* ACCEPTED the resignation of Darlene Byer for the purpose of retirement, effective June 30.

* HIRED Jeffery Weisgarber as maintenance/custodial, effective Jan. 15.

* APPROVED participation in the Ohio School Boards Association Legal Assistance Fund for 2010.
