William E. Grogg

William E. Grogg, 85, of Minerva, died Feb. 24, 2010, in the Alliance Community Hospital.

He was born June 25, 1924, in Waynesburg, to Edward and Dora (Leyda) Grogg. He retired from PCC as a furnace operator, where he worked for 29 years. He is a United States Navy veteran of World War II and a life member of the Minerva VFW Post 4120.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Unkefer) Grogg, whom he married May 21, 1966; a daughter, Cathy Rhodes of Minerva; a stepdaughter, Vickie Frank of Canton; three sons, Charles (Tara) Grogg of Newark, Ed (Janet) Grogg of East Rochester, and Fred Grogg of Minerva; a sister, Dorothy Lucas of Minerva; a brother, Robert Grogg of Minerva; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Karla Grogg, and Karen Arnold, and sons William and Christopher Grogg; and brothers John Grogg and Kenneth Grogg.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date in Liberty Cemetery, with full military honors. Arrangements are by the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home.
