The Carroll County commissioners announced Feb. 25 the county still has money available to demolish vacant or deteriorated homes through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The program can absorb all costs associated with the physical removal of these properties, along with any associated legal costs required to cite them for demolition. Mobile homes may also be demolished as part of this program. Porperties cited for demolition through either a locally adopted process or through a voluntary demolition agreement signed by property owners. Demolition-request packages are available through the commissioners' office. Anyone with questions about the program may contact Marshall Bleckman, the NSP administrator, at 330-499-9798. This program is to be completed by the end of June, but Carroll County must commit 90 percent of its allocation by the end of April. Comments
