The sheep competition was held on Thursday. Travis Johnson of Carrollton was the overall winner. Others who competed from the area included Austin and Logan Trbovich of Waynesburg and Lauren Hawkins and Paige Thompson of Malvern.

Paige Thompson (from left) of Malvern earned a second place with her sheep. Thompson is a member of the Brown Roundup 4-H Club. Brothers Austin and Logan Trbovich of Waynesburg had another successful year at the Carroll County Fair. Austin won his weight class with his sheep as well as earning grand champion dairy beef feeder, third overall market steer, junior champion Holstein and intermediate pig showman. Logan also won for his weight class in sheep, as well as overall dairy beef feeder, showman of showman and intermediate dairy beef showman.

Millie the cow is being milked while at the Carroll County Fair. Millie is owned by Robin Palmer of Carrollton. The man milking the cow said the milk will be sent to the Minerva Cheese Factory.

Evan Ferguson, of Carrollton, showed a fair animal for the first time during the 2009 Carroll County Fair. Ferguson is proud of his achievement with his chicken and was honored with fourth place in showmanship. Ferguson is the son of Wayne and Jennifer Ferguson and is a member of the Carroll County Kids.

Jordan Morsheiser, 18, daughter of Dan and Julie Morsheiser of Roswell Road, Carrollton, won the grand title of Carroll County Fair Queen for 2009. Chelsea McIntire, 17, daughter of Pete and Carol McIntire of Antigua Road, Carrollton, won first runner-up. Morsheiser (left) and McIntire (right) were found spending time with fair visitors in the grandstands at a tractor and truck pulling event.
