April 23, 2008

Jordan Riddle, 10-year-old Misty Karlen dancer, was crowned Jr. Miss Headliner at the Headliners dance competition at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown on April 5.

She won her title by dancing her solo routines and receiving the highest overall score of all junior solo dancers, from judges from New York, New Jersey and Minnesota. Twenty dance studios from several states were represented at the competition.

Jordan was chosen to compete in the World Dance Championship, which will be held in Germany. She was also chosen to be in the Headliners opening dance routine for the national competition, which will be held in Virginia Beach, Va., in July.

Karlen received the choreography award for Jordan's title-winning jazz routine, "Life of It."

Jordan has been placing in the overalls at various dance competitions since she started taking lessons at Misty Karlen's Dance Studio at age four. She is a fourth-grade student at M.I. Day Elementary, and the daughter of Angela and George Riddle, and sister of Will, of Paris.
