Malvern Historical Society receives $800 from Thrivent

April 30, 2008

The Malvern Historical Society recently received $800 from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to help with the building of a gazebo in the new multi-purpose community park, on East Porter Street.

The funding was made possible through volunteers using Thrivent Financial's Care Abounds in Communities program in conjunction with Malvern Rotary's pancake breakfast. Thrivent Financial's Care Abounds in Communities program provides financial support for volunteer projects and fund-raising activities benefiting individuals, families and qualified nonprofit organizations.

"Care Abounds in Communities allows Thrivent Financial members and other interested volunteers to join in service and use the financial resources of Thrivent Financial to serve people and organizations here in our local area," said Karen Jeske, with the Carroll-Harrison Chapter of Thrivent Financial's member volunteer group serving those in the Malvern area. "Thrivent chapter activities like this one connect congregations, institutions and volunteers to make a difference in people's lives."

Anyone can join in a volunteer activity sponsored by Thrivent Financial. To connect with the Carroll-Harrison Chapter of Thrivent Financial, contact Karen Jeske.
