The master gardener volunteers of Stark County will be having a plant sale on May 17, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stark County Fairgrounds exhibition building.
Sales of perennials, heirloom plants, native Ohio plants, vegetables and hanging annual baskets will benefit programs sponsored by the organization, including Bloomin' Balconies and the Quail Hollow herb garden restoration.
Three free programs will also be offered, with no pre-registration required. Topics include: "Landscaping for Small Spaces," "Surviving the Emerald Ash Borer," and "Herbalicious - Herbs and Their Uses."
An information booth will be set up to answer questions about using perennials in the landscape, developing and maintaining shade or sun gardens, handling problems with pests and plant diseases, and controlling invasive species.
