May 1 - A Lunar Road, Carrollton, woman reported to deputies that she filed a joint tax return with her husband. They were denied their refund by the IRS. The IRS informed them that there was a duplicate tax form filed by a person in Alabama who has used her name and Social Security number, claiming different dependents and a different return amount. The woman is working to straighten the matter out.
May 1 - A Clover Street, Minerva, woman reported menacing to sheriff's deputies at her home. Deputies found that an ongoing neighbor dispute had fueled the altercation between the two families. The woman is going to consult with the county prosecutor's office.
May 1 - A Bachelor Road, Magnolia, man reported he was threatened over the phone. According to the Magnolia man, he has called by his wife's ex-husband, who made threats that he was going to kill him, friends, and family. A report was forwarded to the prosecutor's office.
May 2 - A Gallo Road, Carrollton, man reported someone smashed his outdoor glass patio table top.
May 3 - A South Reed Street, Malvern, man reported he found a Huffy mountain bike at the Malvern Park, near the creek. The man advised he was going to put up posters around the town to locate the owner.
May 3 - Deputies investigated a complaint at the American Legion Post, on Bridge Street, in Malvern. A Wilson Street, Malvern, man reported he was assaulted by a Third Street, Malvern, man while they were inside the Legion. Deputies went inside the Legion Post to look for witnesses of the incident. Everyone claimed they saw nothing.
May 4 - An East Porter Street, Malvern, woman reported someone stole her 1994 Chevrolet Camero. Later that same day, the vehicle was recovered in the parking lot at Deb's Restaurant on Alliance Road.
May 6 - An Apollo Road, Carrollton, man reported his 1988 Chevrolet dump truck was taken for a joy ride from a Canton Road, Carrollton, location. The man wanted a report in case the truck was used in some type of crime.
May 7 - A report has been forwarded to the county prosecutor's office regarding the actions displayed by a Wilson Street, Malvern, man. It is reported by the neighbors that the man displays inappropriate behaviors to them by flipping them off and shaking his buttocks at them. One of the neighbors reported that she has even taken a picture of the man's actions toward her and the others.
May 7 - A Fox Avenue, Minerva, man reported an unwanted Hartville man was at his Queens Road, Jewett, property. A report was forwarded to the county prosecutor's office for review.
May 7 - Animals at large was the complaint at a Cumberland Road, Bowerston, address that deputies investigated between two neighbors. One woman reported her neighbor has goats breaking through and jumping over the woman's fence. The matter was reported to have been going on for a year now and deputies spoke with the woman regarding the law on animals at large.
May 7 - Criminal mischief was reported at the Lee Township rest area in Harlem Springs. It was found that an unknown person(s) wrote all over the walls and urinals with a black marker. A sign was also found stolen from the women's restroom door.
May 8 - Deputies arrested a Kensington Greene, Carrollton, man on a charge of domestic violence when they were called to an apartment for an intoxicated man who would not leave. Deputies found that the man and woman were involved in a domestic altercation and he had hit her in the back of the head and pushed her.
May 9 - A Lunar Road, Carrollton, man was arrested by deputies and became argumentative toward the deputies. While at the county jail, his behavior continued and deputies sprayed him with mace after he broke jail property, including an observation camera. The man kept telling deputies that his father worked at the sheriff's office and he would be cleared from the charges and get out of jail. As of May 10, the man is still incarcerated in the jail and is being held on a $10,000 cash/surety bond.
