More households have been assisted with their emergency home-heating needs during the first three months of the program than we assisted during all of last winter. HARCATUS Family Support Center Offices in Dennison, New Philadelphia, Carrollton and Cadiz have assisted more than 2,600 households and are still accepting phone calls to schedule appointments for the 2009-2010 HEAP Winter Crisis Program.
Eligible households must have been either shut off, received a disconnect notice on their gas and or electric bills, or heat with fuel oil, propane, coal or wood, and have less than a 10-day supply. The HEAP Winter Crisis program ends March 31, and assistance may be provided only once per household during the winter heating season.
