The Minerva First Presbyterian Church's Praise Dance Team will be performing at the Golden Age Retreat in Carrollton on Monday, Feb. 16. The residents will be treated with a special dance performance of "How Great Thou Art" , the dancers being accompanied by vocalist Debbie Imler.
The Praise Dance Team is very new at the Presbyterian Church in Minerva having developed about a year ago. Members include: Shanna Kelly-14, Kristen & Emily Clark-12, Burgandi Mang-12, and adults Joy Yacklin, and founder Patti Winter.
Pastor John Lane states that "There are many ways for us to praise the Lord and dance is one of them."
Winter says, "We do our own choreography, using the words of the songs as a starting point. It is amazing to see the Holy Spirit pour out of these girls, they are so special! None of us have any formal dance training, which I think is what makes us so unique. This dance ministry has changed my life." The dance troop is currently working on songs for Easter.
