Cedric "Teddy" Nitz

Cedric "Teddy" Nitz, 53, of Minerva, died Feb. 28, 2010, in the Great Trail Care Center.

He was born Jan. 15, 1957, in Buchanan, W.Va., to Verlin Nitz of Malvern and the late Virgie (Howard) Nitz. He was a self-employed auto mechanic.

He is survived by two daughters, Brandi (Josh) Rhoads of Carrollton and Nicole Nitz of Minerva; four sons, Ryan Burbank of Minerva, Wilson Nitz of Minerva, Gilbert (Amy) Snyder IV of Greenville, SC, and Parker "Rusty" Nitz of Minerva; father and stepmother, Verlin and Mary Nitz of Malvern; eight brothers and sisters, John Howard of West Virginia, Linda (Gene) Lanham of Carrollton, Sherry (David) Small of Carrollton, Barbara Baum of Alliance, Roger (Jean) Howard of West Virginia, Steve Nitz of Dalton, Verlin (Loretta) Nitz Jr. of Minerva, and Sondra Bailey of Minerva; and 11 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Howard and Danny Howard.

Funeral services were March 2 in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Rev. Gabe Norris officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
