James Emmons Groom
James Emmons Groom, 63, of Salem, passed away Feb. 26, 2010, at his home.
He was born May 29, 1946, the son of the late William and Dorothy Dennison Groom. He was employed as a machinist with Davis Machine for two years, and had previously worked as a machinist for National Rubber Machinery for 24 years.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Victoria Carlisle Groom, whom he married Aug. 23, 1968; two sons, William L. (Jodi) Groom of Salem, and Thomas J. (Lisa) Groom of Alliance; one sister, Denise Lynn Riffee of Salem; and three grandchildren, Morgan Nicole Groom, Ryleigh Hannah Groom, and James Thomas Groom.
A memorial service will be held today (March 4) at 11 a.m. at the Locust Grove Baptist Church, at the corner of Route 165 and Washingtonville Road in Salem, with Rev. William Moore officiating. There will be no calling hours.
