Virginia (Klimko) Christensen

Virginia (Klimko) Christensen, 88, of Minerva, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, in Altercare of Nobles Pond. She was born Oct. 2, 1921 in Charleston, W.Va., to George and Ella (Cox) Burley. She was a beautician for 64 years, owning Ginny's Beauty Shop for many years and then working for Foxxy Lady Hair Salon. She was a member of the Minerva First Christian Church and the Alpha Rho Sunday School Class. She was also a U.S. Navy veteran and member of the Minerva American Legion Post #357.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Klimko, who died in 1974; her second husband, Christie "Jack" Christensen who died in 1995; son, Stanley Klimko; sister Betty Polen; and brother Howard Burley

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy (David) Bratu, of Minerva; son, Tom Klimko, of Minerva; stepdaughter, Chris (Bill) Kavenagh, of Stowe; stepson, Bill Christensen of Akron; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews

Funeral services were Friday, July 9, at noon in the Minerva First Christian Church with Ralph Norman officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours were held one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Arrangements were made by Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home.
