Robert R. Manfull

Robert R. Manfull, 92, of Minerva, and formerly Mechanicstown, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, in Mercy Medical Center.

He was born April 27, 1918, in Carroll County to Ralph and Flo (Gamble) Manfull. He retired from Summitville Tile in Summitville, had worked at Glen Gary in East Canton and was a farmer. He is a member of the Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta and is a WWII U.S. Army veteran. He is a member of the Minerva American Legion Post 357, D.A.V. Post 50 in Alliance, Fireside SAMS Camping Club 50, Minerva AARP 1808, and the Carroll County Camera Club.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Stalder) Manfull, whom he married Oct. 12, 1947; two daughters, Cheryl (John) Walters of Minerva, and Darla (Bill) Young, Jr., of Beloit; two sisters, Sarah Tamper of Houston, Texas, and Pearl Briceland of Summitville; sister-in-law, Irene Manfull of Clearwater, Fla.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a half-sister, Margaret VanFossen; sister, Martha Jane Davidson; three brothers, Corwin "Corky" Manfull, Cary Manfull and infant Samuel Manfull; and half-brother, Emmet Tarr.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 11 a.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home, in Minerva, with the Rev. James Rice officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery with full military honors.
