Mona Eddy, 81, of Westerville and formerly Minerva, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, in The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
She was born July 21, 1931, in Pleasant City to Thomas and Maude (Hively) Finnegan. She retired from Minerva Local Schools where she was a secretary for 25 years. A graduate from Pleasant City High School in 1949, she is a member of the Minerva United Methodist Church, past matron of Esther Chapter 120 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Pleasant City Alumni Association.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Eddy, whom she married Nov. 23, 1950; two daughters, Mira (Stan) Palmer, of Catawba Bay, and Elaine "Peanut" Eddy, of Sunbury; two sons, Rob (Roberta) Eddy, of South Salem, and Eric (Kathy) Eddy, of Minerva; sister, Patricia Schafer of Pleasant City; brother, Thomas (Pat) Finnegan of Byesville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Eddy.
Funeral services were held Nov. 13, in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva, with the Rev. Harley Wheeler officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery. Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
