Alice L. Johnson, 93, of North Benton, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, in her home.
She was born June 14, 1919, in Joy, to Sherman and Bertha (Stage) McNutt. She retired from TRW in Minerva and had worked for Good Roads Machinery in Minerva and Republic Steel in Canton. She is a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, the VFW Auxiliary Post 4120 in Minerva, American Legion Auxiliary Post 357 in Minerva and the Minerva Eagles Aerie 2199.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Stevenson and Raymond Johnson; daughter, Elma Felton; son, William Stevenson; and eight brothers and sisters, Raymond, George, Walter, Wilbur, Lester and Alfred McNutt, Myrtle Ryser, and Agnes Proctor. She is survived by four daughters, Janet Harry of Alliance, Twila Herron of Malvern, Marcene (Bill) Lockridge of North Benton, and Sherry Grethere of Fargo, N.D.; son, Earl Stevenson Jr. of Malvern; three stepsons, Richard (Mary Lou) Johnson of Paris, Joe (Janet) Johnson of Minerva, and Larry (Brenda) Johnson of Salem; and 274 grandchildren spanning six generations.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 29, 1 p.m., in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Walter McNutt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services. Gotschall-Hutchinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
