Blanche M. Freitag, 83, of Cambridge, formerly of Woodsfield, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Victorian Oaks, Cambridge.
She was born near Malvern on Aug. 22, 1929, a daughter of the late Harry Harrison Leggett and Myrtle Olive John Stoffer Leggett.
Blanche was a retired L.P.N. and store clerk; a charter member of the First Baptist Church, Woodsfield, and also the Highland Baptist Church, Grove City; and a former member of the Woodsfield Emergency Squad and Pythian Sisters, Lydia Chapter, Woodsfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin A. "Bus" Freitag, April 9, 1985; a daughter, Sharol Marie Moore; six brothers, Emery, Joe, Duane, James, John Leggett and Loyal Stoffer; and one sister, Jean Grogg.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol Dawn (Don) Six of Sarasota, Fla.; one son, David Arthur Freitag of Woodsfield; two sisters, Esther Nichols of Malvern, and Ethyle Ferguson of Malvern; a son-in-law, Jim (Darla) Moore of Cambridge; a sister-in-law, Eunice Dailey of Woodsfield; five grandchildren, Kim (Todd) Lynch, Mike (Cherri) Truax, Steve Truax, Brian (Tiffany) Moore, and Sherry (C.J.) Andrews; four step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Sunday, Dec. 30, at the First Baptist Church, 114 N. Paul St., Woodsfield with Tommy Mills officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at the Middle Church Cemetery, near Lewisville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Foundation, P.O.
