Barbara Jean Deeter

Barbara Jean Deeter, 74, of Malvern, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, peacefully at her home.

Barb was born in Oil City, Pa., July 16, 1938, a daughter of the late Rose (Jimmie) and Marciano Duarte.

Barb is survived by her husband, Ronald Deeter; her daughter, Patricia Drumm; and grandchildren, Benjamin and Emily Drumm of Dublin; her son, Douglas Deeter of Minerva; and her sister, Theresa (Phillip) Johnson of Franklin, Pa. She is preceded in death by sisters, Rose Marie Skokowski, and Nicolene Eheols.

Barb was a fighter and to everyone who knew her and an inspiration. She was a very warm and compassionate person always reaching out to her friends and family, especially holding a special spot in her heart for her grandkids. She had a witty sense of humor and loved to see people laugh. She enjoyed boating, decorating and was a motor-racing enthusiast. She was a fearless driver of her off road Jeep Wrangler. Last but not least, she was passionate about her beloved Lake Mohawk.

Barb was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was vice president of the family business, Technical Service and Supply, Inc and had worked at GBS previously.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Malvern, Jan. 12, with Father Vic Cinson as celebrant. Burial was in Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery.
