Betty H. Martin, 87, of Minerva, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, in the Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born May 26, 1925, in Toronto, Ohio, to James and Ada Scott. She had worked at Good Roads Machinery, American Switch and General Color, in Minerva. She was a member of the Bayard United Methodist Church.
Known as "Aunt Betty" to all, she loved playing cards with anyone willing to play. She was the most loving mother, grandmother and aunt. The world was a better place because of her love, wit and humor. Her love was never ending. Making jewelry was her passion and anyone who knew Aunt Betty had a beautiful bracelet or necklace made by her. Her generosity was astounding, she loved giving homemade gifts. She will be terribly missed.
She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Russell Martin, of Florida; daughter, Susan (Steve) Ralph of Florida; and special niece and best friend, Linda (Gary) Fry of Minerva, they were so close they had no need for conversation to have a good time. They would just sit and enjoy each other. She is survived by special great niece, Sherry Fry of Lakewood; four grandchildren, Toni, Shane, Matthew, and Christopher; special great-grandchildren, Jillian, and Avery; and many loved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a son, James "Jimmy" Kidder, Jr.; sisters and brothers, Evelyn Hanley, Pauline Long, Dorothy Lally, William, Kenny, Charles, and Raymond Scott; and a granddaughter, Dawn.
