Mabel Harrison Lairson Hill, 86, of Carrollton, died early Friday morning, Jan. 11, 2013, in her home.
Born Feb. 15, 1926, on a farm outside of Scio, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Alice (Haines) Harrison. Mabel retired from TRW in Minerva and enjoyed many years of traveling. She was an avid gardener and loved playing cards with family and friends. She enjoyed visits with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Lowdermilk.
She is survived by her five children, Tom Lairson of Minerva, Timothy S. (Linda) Lairson of Athens, Ted (Diana) Lairson of Perrysville, Tanya (Ted) Gartrell of Bowerston, and Tad (Judy) Lairson of Perrysville; a sister, Dorothy Reigle of Canton; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William F. Lairson, whom she married July 22, 1943, who passed away Nov. 27, 1973, and Billy M. Hill, whom she married Jan. 25, 1975, who passed away Nov. 10, 2004; two brothers, Wilbur, and Delmar "Pete" Harrison; and three sisters, Famy Hauritz, Virginia McConnell, and Mary Studer.
Family and friends were received Jan. 15 at Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16, 11 a.m. at the Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home in Carrollton with Pastor Lu Ann Youngman officiating. Interment will follow in Perrysville Cemetery.
