Jan M. Swank, 67, of Cuyahoga Falls, formerly of Minerva, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, in Akron City Hospital.
She was born June 10, 1949, in Canton, Ohio, to Loland and June (Vink) Hoopes. She retired after 25 years from Metaldyne as an administrative assistant, was a member of Minerva United Methodist church and graduated from Minerva High School in 1967.
She is preceded in death by her Husband, Joel "Jody" Swank, who passed away Sept. 7, 2015. She is survived by three daughters, LaNay (Pete) Malaska of Northfield Center, Britane (Matt) Bednar of Cincinnati, and Charlene Swank of Hartville; a brother, Mike (Janet) Hoopes of Gaithersburg Md.; a grandson, Maxton Malaska; two nieces; one nephew; three grandnieces; and one grandnephew.
Funeral services were held Feb. 12 in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva, with the Rev. Harley Wheeler officiating. Burial was in the Quaker Ridge Cemetery. Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register book at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
