To the Editor:
A little bit about Cassie (Campbell) Miller. She was very dedicated to her husband, daughter, family and friends. Her dedication went further though. Her job at Great Trail Care Center placed her in many community functions. By taking on the extra projects, she touched many lives.
We, as a family, did not realize the impact Cassie had on so many people until after her courageous battle with cancer and her passing. While we wish we were able to send individual cards of thanks, we found this to be overwhelming to all of us.
Many of you attended, helped and planned various benefits and events for Cassie. For this we are eternally grateful. The merchants, businesses and private donations for the Celebration of Life hosted by Linda Kocher and the Minerva Eagles was an event that has helped many in the family cope with the loss of someone as special as Cassie (Campbell) Miller.
In closing, we would like to say thank you to family, friends and neighbors who sent gifts of food, cards, flowers and support during this time.

Minerva Pride
I have lived in Minerva for more than 13 years and time really does seem to fly. I know that compared to most people, that still ranks me as an outsider, but I wanted to take a moment and say I am extremely proud of the people of Minerva.
On Aug. 14, there was a cooperative effort to bless the Minerva community at Family Fun Day Extreme. Many of the local churches, community organizations and local businesses linked arms at Municipal Park to provide a free day of food, fun, and fellowship. Minerva is a great American town and what makes it great are the great Americans that live, work, and serve here.
I believe greater things are yet to come for this community. I know I can speak for the pastors of this area in that we are praying and believing God for the very best for you and your families. So again, thanks to all who were involved. There are too many names for me to list. Thanks for making Family Fun Day Extreme such a blessing to so many. It was a privilege to work with every one of you. May your churches, businesses and families experience the favor of the Lord.

To the Editor:
I would like to thank the Malvern area for supporting me while in Malvern Boy Scout Troop 155 for the past 40 years, most of them as scoutmaster. It has been a great ride and journey.
With your help and support, we added 103 Eagle Scouts, 36 summer camps, 16 treks to Philmont, 1973 Jamboree, one week at Long Schooner Lake in Canada, and hundreds of hikes and campouts. This could not have taken place without your support.
I would like to thank all the parents through the years who helped as assistant scoutmasters, committee members and drivers. I would like to thank the former Malvern Jaycees who signed me up as scoutmaster in 1970, the former Malvern Community Club members who backed us 100 percent, and the Malvern Scouting Alumni Association who has taken over the role of supporting and backing the troop the past six years.
We all know that it does take a village to raise a child and Malvern has always supported all youth programs very well. We have always been envied by a lot of troops for what we have gotten to do.
A special "thank you" to my parents and family for all their help and support. Good luck to E.J. Hole, the new scoutmaster. I know that he will make me proud and that the Malvern area will continue to support Boy Scout Troop 155.
