Nature's curiosities will never cease! This week, Fred Creager of Minerva brought a really "believe it or not article" into the Leader office- an egg within an egg! These freakish eggs were laid by a White Pekin duck owned by Creager. The larger egg is of the soft-shell variety, while the inner egg is a hard-shell, chicken sized egg. The large egg measures 3.5 inches long, 2.5 inches wide, and 1.25 inches in height. The shell is so thin that the yellow yolk can be seen inside. The egg within the "aig" measures approximately 2 inches long, 1.75 inches wide and one inch high. Creager stated that the duck usually laid eggs of the larger variety, but this was the first time such a phenomena of an "egg within an egg" ever occurred with his duck or any duck, as far as is known.
