There were two things I wanted to do in life and succeed doing them. The first was to be a truck driver. The second was to be a cleaning lady. Neither one of those worked out.
I couldn't be a truck driver because I can't climb up into a truck. I can't even climb up into my son's truck or my son-in-laws truck. Actually, I have a very difficult time getting into an SUV. More importantly, I stress out getting into my 1998, low to the ground, half step up from the concrete, Sienna van. It's true that years and years ago I could climb up into an airplane if I had to, but that was way way back when I had joints.
In regards to the cleaning, I love to clean. I really do. Especially when I clean to rock, soul, jazz, blues, and best of all heavy metal. One has never lived until they've fluffed pillows to Seek And Destroy. Not even the " My Pillow" guy. That's the only thing I hope that guy does for his employees is to give them music as they pillow stuff. But, having said that, there is one thing I hate to clean and that is my stove. Which brings me to the reason for this letter.
I need to buy another stove. I say " another" stove because I hate to clean my stove. And the fire department is tired of coming to my house to put out small fires in my oven. And they do a superb job. They're fast, friendly and fire efficient. And yes, they have suggested the oven self clean feature, but I can't use that self clean feature because it leaves little piles of ashes in the oven and its hard for me to clean up those ashes, because they remind me of my choice to be cremated when I die and then just leave me to lie around until some sweeper person finally comes around to vacuum me up.
Anyway, I 've been shopping around for an electric stove. White, like I've had for almost 53 years. Same shape, same knobs, same window. But what I would give to have a stainless steel stove. Those stainless steel stoves are wonderful, but they only come in gas and we don't have a gas thing for that kind of stove. In addition, we have a white refrigerator and its fairly new, so that takes care of that wish. How dumb would it be to have a stainless steel stove right beside a white refrigerator. But then the light bulb went on, the wheels began turning, and the brain went into high alert mode.
Here's the deal. Why don't I contact all stove and refrigerator manufacturers and put a great idea in there heads and ask them to make a stove and frig in a white/steel/combo. I mean, I do have a stainless steel microwave and a stainless steel back slash, so why not a white stove with steel trim on the handle or on the knob/clock area and a frig with white/ steel combo, like the top is steel and then white in the middle and steel on the bottom drawer or steel all over with a strip of white across the middle. It may sound ugly on paper, but there has to be a genius out there that can make this work. Just look at all the different ideas that different folks come up with. There's a genius in all of us.
Hmmmmm. Minerva, Malvern, Carrollton students. Design it.
