Dimmerling chosen to auction Hazen, Arbor Road properties

The Minerva Local School District Board of Education voted, during a special meeting Aug. 24, to contract with Dimmerling Auction to auction the properties on Arbor Road and where Hazen Middle School stood.

The vote took place following an executive session.

In other business, the board:

* APPROVED a grandparent tuition waiver.

* HIRED Amy Pierson, middle-school intervention specialist; Leo Saniuk, high-school intervention-specialist tutor; Kathy Zurbrugg, middle-school Read 180 teacher with a two-ninths contract; Erin Roach, elementary Title I tutor; Theresa Kauffman, educational aide; Linda Baumberger, middle-school technology aide; Sally Lytle, elementary educational aide; Tracy Marshall, two-hour, middle-school cafeteria worker; and Charles Johnson, two-hour high-school cafeteria aide.

* REASSIGNED Diana Jarrett to a four-hour high-school cafeteria worker position.

* ACCEPTED the resignation of Diane Ruff as lead mentor.
