Round-Up 4-H Club

The Brown Frame Round-Up 4-H Club had its third meeting of the new 4-H year on Jan. 8.

The meeting was called to order at 1:35 p.m. by Vice President Joe Moody. Minutes were read from the previous meeting. Members discussed 4-H summer camp, Teen Leaders group, Junior-Fair Board applications, and project enrollment cards.

Guest speaker Wes Frew spoke about the new rules and regulations for this year's fair. The meeting adjourned with a motion made by Charm Evans, club reporter, and seconded by Sydney Eick.

The next meeting will be held Sunday, Feb. 5, at the Minerva Fire Station at 1:30 p.m.

Freshmen 4-H'ers

4-H Club

The Freshmen 4-H'ers held a meeting on Jan. 18 at the Presbyterian Church.

During this meeting, members discussed old business and ideas for community-service projects. The club does two community-service projects each month.

Members discussed the benefit-auction donation and signed thank-you cards for the businesses who donated. They also voted on new officers and signed up for committees.

Members discussed how they were going to decorate the windows at Bud's Farm Toys for Carroll County 4-H Week, Feb. 12-19. The club will donate a cake for 4-H Kick-Off Night, Feb. 21. To conclude the meeting, members discussed rule changes for the 2012 fair and decided the T-shirt orders would be due at the March meeting.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Presbyterian Church at 6 p.m. At this meeting, members will discuss the Kick-Off Night and projects for the 2012 year.
